Hi, I’m Kelly
I’m a neurodivergent parent, hairdresser and the owner of Sien Hair, a private sensory-focused salon in Melbourne.
When my own child’s first haircut took more than two hours, I began to understand just how overwhelming an ordinary salon visit can be. The sounds, sensations, unfamiliar people and pressure to sit still can all become barriers - especially when a child has previously felt frightened, rushed or restrained.
Over time, I developed gentler ways to prepare children before their appointment and support them once they arrived. Sensory Safe Salons™ grew from that work.
